"Princess of Wales"

"Princess of Wales" historically refers to the wife of the Prince of Wales, who is the heir apparent to the British throne. The most famous Princess of Wales in recent history was Diana, Princess of Wales. She was married to Charles, Prince of Wales, who is now the current heir apparent and is expected to become king upon the death or abdication of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. Diana was widely admired for her charitable work and her role in modernizing the image of the British monarchy. Tragically, she died in a car accident in 1997, but her legacy continues to be remembered and celebrated. As of my last update in January 2022, the current Prince of Wales is Charles, and he does not have a wife with the title "Princess of Wales."
